My entire life I was raised around cars, whether that was working on them, going to shows or just being genuinely interested. I immediately knew I had to go into a career restoring cars when my parents bought me my dream project truck for my 16th birthday…a 1970 Ford F-100 4×4.
My eyes really started to open once I started taking classes at the Excelsior Springs Career Center during my senior year. During this time, I really started to learn about McPherson college and almost instantly applied due to them being the only college to offer a Bachelor Degree in Automotive Restoration. I was ecstatic to learn that I had been accepted into their program.
My spring semester of my senior year I was tasked with getting an internship and I immediately knew I wanted to intern at a restoration shop. I did a lot of research and found Midwest Corvettes under the top restoration shops around the Kansas City area. I interviewed with Carl French and Dawn Yeager and they gave me the chance to get hands on in the career path I had always dreamed of.
